California is great, I'm having tons of fun, but I miss Virginia. I didn't think I'd ever say that.
More later.

Harry Potter Countdown
I found a really awesome book review of the last HP book today at NYTimes.com. The spoilers are mild, at best. You get a rough death count and you find out what a "Hallow" is, so be warned.

When I found this online, I was really excited about it and I was talking to Eric about it... we decided to go to lunch together today. He kept looking down at his phone. He's got his phone on him pretty much nonstop, but he was looking at the phone excessively, even for him.
"What, is someone text messaging you, why do you keep looking at your phone like that?"
"Nope." He looked shifty.
"What on Earth are you doing then?"
"You don't wanna know."
"Uhm, yes I do."
"I've been looking down at my phone to see how long it is between your Harry Potter references. So far it's been 2 minutes, eleven minutes, and right now you're at 17 minutes."
I glare at him.
"If this were anyone else, you'd think it was hysterical. You can't be mad at me."
So this is how the whole lunch went. We spent the whole time talking about Harry Potter, without mentioning the name. He's never going to let me live my enthusiasm down :-p
But aside from all that, FRIDAY NIGHT, girls! It's going to be such fun!

I'd go the whole wide world...
I was having a discussion with my friend Nathan tonight over the origins of the song used to great effect in Stranger than Fiction.
Somewhere inbetween arguing whether it was by an obscure group called Wreckless Eric or the more well known Monkees, I found the clip from the movie on YouTube.
I could try to describe this scene to help you better understand the context, but really and truly, you're just better off renting the movie.
Yay for impetuous, heartfelt gestures. The world needs more of them.
